There is an increasing number of people living with alopecia. Many have lower self esteem, are depressed, and have lost their inner glow. Some are searching for solutions, going far afield to New York and L.A., willing to spend thousands of dollars for unproven cures in the hopes of a miracle.

Alopecia areata is a disorder that causes sudden hair loss on the scalp and other regions of the body. There is no known cure. Hair loss and thinning can be caused by a variety of reasons including hormones, heredity and menopause.
